What You'll Learn
Have you ever seen that cartoon, Pinky and the Brain?
Every episode a little mouse called The Brain hatches a new plan to take over the world. No matter how brilliant and inventive his latest plan for world domination, it always seems to fail. Usually, it’s because of Pinky messing something up. Which begs the question, “Who is the real brain?”
Key to getting more of what you want isn’t about clever tricks or duping others into doing something. It’s down to relationship and how you manage them. And the key to that is developing your assertiveness skills.
Developing assertiveness is the key to getting more of what you want.
Just think for a moment… How often has someone got the better from you, simply because they were more articulate, bullish or you were too damn nervous about speaking up for what you want? It happens to all of us from time to time.
That’s why I’m super excited to be talking about this subject. It affects just about every human interaction you have.
What I’ve done in today’s episode is shared some of my top tips from a series of courses I run around assertiveness, leadership and confidence. I get a lot of great feedback from students on my courses about the models and strategies I’m sharing with you here. I hope it serves you as well as it has for others.
Today's free cheat sheet
As always I like to +1 what I’ve done on the podcast. Today is no different. I’ve prepared a cheat sheet for you on the 10 difficult behaviour types and go in to much more detail than on the podcast. Take a look at these. They should really help!
