Brad Burton is the UK’s #1 Motivational Business Speaker. He is the founder of 4Networking, the UK’s largest national business network, author of four business books and mentor to sole-traders, small businesses, and large corporates; delivering sessions around public speaking and book writing.
What You'll Learn
11 times Brad Burton wanted to quit the first nine years of his business. "Not just talk about it, p****ed off" wanting to quit. This was 11 times of seriously thinking about giving it up for good. The pressure was immense and it was having a telling affect on Brad's health.
It's a sad fact that Brad is not alone in having experienced this. Starting and growing a business is one of the most challenging things a person can ever do.
Sure, a successful business can be immesnely rewarding financially, emotionally and spiritually. The personal development you gain through your journey is tremendous and believe it or not, you'll become a better person in the process.
Nevertheless, getting to success (however you define it), will no doubt tax you in ways you're unprepared for.
Being an entrepreneur is also something not considered the "safe option." We tend to assume it's only "special" people who have the gift, skills or raw guts to go out and be successful. Entrepreneurship is not something for the "normal" person like you and me, right?
So how does a person go from working every hour imagineable, exhaustion and frustration to becoming the UK's #1 Motivational Speaker and successful entepreneur living the life of his dreams?
Brad Burton Gives it to You Straight
In today's podcast I wanted to explore these challenges. How did Brad go from pizza delivery boy to fast cars, television interverviews, book deals and fame?
Brad has a fascinating story and being from Manchester he's pretty straight talking.
There is a complete run down of what we discuss in Brad Burton's interview above in the "What You'll Learn" section. In short though, here's what you can expect:
Get a Mentor
You might be surprised to know that Brad has his mentors. According to Brad he curerntly has three but he's had thousands.
"Think of mentors like an app. You open that app for that one. Close it down. Go for that app. That's what I do." - Brad Burton
The trick to finding a good mentor comes down to three fundamental questions:
- 1Do you feel like you connect with and trust the person?
- 2Are they sufficiently further ahead from you to be able to learn from?
- 3(Most importantly) Are you willing to implement what they teach?
If you're enjoying these podcasts, you can answer yes to each one of the questions and you'd like increase sales and grow your business, get in touch.
We'll have a chat to unpick your situation and see if I can help you. If I think I can we'll talk about the best way to do that. If I'm not the right person to help you, you'll at least walk away with one or two actionable steps that will take your business forward without me.
